My heart and prayers go out to all of those injured and killed today in the mass-shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas along with all of their families, fellow students, teachers and school personnel affected by this tragedy. Sadly, as frequent as these mass-casualty shootings are becoming, I believe our mainstream media along with our local and federal authorities in Government and the emergency personnel responding to these attacks, owe the public answers as to why and how so many of these mass-shootings, bombings (Boston), etc. happen to coincide with mass-casualty emergency drills being performed the very same day and time or within days of the real attacks and, in many cases, at the same location or within proximity to where the attacks occurred.
I am not suggesting that the shooting at Santa Fe High School meets this criteria by any means, I am only speaking to and concerned about mass-casualty shootings, etc. that coincided with training exercises so many times in the past?
Why am I concerned? In 2003, I remember all too well President George W. Bush in his State of the Union address using “fear-mongering” politics telling the world and continually selling the story that Iraq had “yellowcake rich uranium powder” along with possessing “weapons of mass-destruction,” all proven to be known falsehoods which were used as the catalyst to galvanize American and International support to attack Iraq.
The consequence of this monumental marketing “LIE:” thousands of American soldiers have died and hundreds of thousands more have sustained life-altering injuries–including 400,000 brain injuries. Also, untold millions of Iraqi civilians were either killed, injured and/or displaced in this illegal and unconstitutional war of aggression based on “proven” and “known” fraudulent information?
Furthermore, in President Bush’s 2002 “Axis of Evil” speech, he told Congress and the world, “you are either with us, or against us,” and used similar variations in other speeches to depict situations as being polarized and to force witnesses, bystanders, or others unaligned with some form of pre-existing conflict to either become allies of the speaking party or lose favor. The obvious implied consequence if we did not do as he asked was to make us equally as bad as the enemy. For many of us who didn’t trust what we were hearing and who wanted unequivocal and irrefutable proof of Iraq’s alleged arsenal–both chemical and biological– before launching a war with them, we were simply labeled both unpatriotic and un-American.
Now, many in Congress along with many of their partners working in powerful anti-gun lobbies are doing the same thing President Bush did in his speeches while selling his war with Iraq. They are currently using each new mass school shooting or otherwise to not only bolster their case and vilify gun owners, but moreso, sell their story by convincing the populace through fear, that even those of us that are good, law-abiding citizens must give up our guns or we too are as complicit as the perpetrators of these mass shootings who have killed and injured innocent citizens and children.
Let’s learn a lesson from the lies of Iraq before we fall prey to more lies! Let’s start by getting answers regarding the many coincidences of mass-casualty training drills or exercises dovetailing these mass shootings before they take our guns away indefinitely based on false pretenses. Let’s not make another mistake trusting many anti-gun advocates in our Government along with their anti-gun lobbies who are hellbent on taking away our right to bear arms no matter the circumstances.
Let’s be cautious and not be part of the “herd mentality” and consequently fall prey to another fear-mongering disaster like Iraq. Let’s ensure instead that “We Won’t Get Fooled Again!” as Pete Townsend of the group the Who so brilliantly penned back in the 70s. I hope everyone reads the links I have attached. Our gun rights and our country as a whole depends on you doing so!
