Mark DeSaulnier was one of just 25 congressmen who voted NO on HR 1865, the “Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act of 2017.” 388 voted YES.
Here’s the summary of the bill:
“To amend the Communications Act of 1934 to clarify that section 230 of such Act does not prohibit the enforcement against providers and users of interactive computer services of Federal and State criminal and civil law relating to sexual exploitation of children or sex trafficking, and for other purposes.”
Why would Mr. DeSaulnier vote against a bill to protect victims of human – and child – sex trafficking? I cannot find any explanation written or stated by him to explain his vote.
